Distance Covered:

First session in 4 weeks and whatt a ball. Played safe and rigged the 4.2 but very full and stayed powered for most of the time. There were some lulls that just caused me to sink but it was great in the gusts. Al looked powered most of the time on his 5.0 which was proberbly the best choice. Sailed for about 2 hours with some small jumps and fun blasting between the waves. Westerly is quite nice at borth as long as there is enough power to hop over the white water and keep planing.
After the wave session I decided to try a bit of slalom sailing in the esturary. Rigged a 6.0 and a borrowed Sonic 100. The board only knows one speed and that is flat out. Had some real mad runs and blasted across the estaury in double quick time but it was totally knackering and my fitness let me down. The board was great and was very controllable as long as you kept the power on. I managed an easy 30knots in very lumpy water and with a little more fitness and flatter water 35 will be a definate. Much easier to drive when well powered than the s-type. Soon I just could not hold on any more so packed up and went home.
